We ask that you please submit a photo with your egg donor application to help us find the best physical match for your potential recipient couple.  Once we receive your application it will be reviewed within a few days.  You will receive a call from an Egg Donor Coordinator wanting to schedule your initial visit.

Initial Visit: During your initial visit to Conceptions Reproductive Associates of Colorado you will meet with one of our knowledgeable Egg Donor Coordinators.  They are Registered Nurses that specialize in fertility and egg donation.  They will take a copy of your driver’s license and proof of medical insurance.  If you do not currently have medical insurance your potential recipient couple will provide you with medical insurance once you are chosen for an egg donation.

You will be asked to fill out a series or questionnaires.  The most important of these questionnaires will be your medical history.  Please research your family’s medical history before your initial visit.  Your medical history will be reviewed by a RN and Licensed Genetic Counselor.  Your medical history is very important to your potential recipient couple as well as your success as a donor.  Full and honest discloser is a must.

After you have completed your egg donor questionnaires you will receive a packet on Egg Donation.  The RN will review all the details related to the egg donation process including the procedure, the injections you will be taking, side effects and potential risks.  This is your opportunity to ask about any questions or concerns you may have.

Our egg donor program is completely anonymous! You will be asked to provide us with childhood photos.   This will help your potential couple in the matching process.  We do ask that you provide clear photo’s that show your facial features.  You can provide as many as you choose, we ask for ages ranging from infancy to school age.  Copies of your photos will then be passed on to other potential recipient couples searching for an egg donor.  The recipient couples will never know your name or any identifying information about you.
At your initial consult you will also be given a tour of our facilities so that you are able to easily locate our lab, nursing area and staff.
$5,500 Compensation for Egg Donation
You will be compensated $5,500 for your donation cycle.  Compensation is to thank you for all your hard
work, time and effort in our program.  A check will be given to you at the time of your egg retrieval.

If you decide you would like to donate again you will be compensated $6,000 for your next donation, since you will be considered a proven a donor!

Thank you so much for your wonderful gift!
The Egg Donation Process
This is the most exciting part!  You have already been matched with a recipient couple.  We will start you on birth control pills to help coordinate your cycle with your recipient.  You will be given a medication calendar and instructions.

Medications and Ultrasounds:  We will schedule a medication consult for you to come in and pick up all your medications.  You will be asked to give all your injections to yourself at home.  Don’t worry, we are here to help 24 hours a day and will practice many times before giving yourself injections.  All the injections are Subcutaneous, meaning small 1/2” needles, you will not be asked to give yourself Intramuscular injections here at Conceptions!

During your injections you will be asked to come in for almost daily ultrasounds and blood work for about a 10 day period.  These appointments last only 30 minutes.  We open at 7:00AM and will need to have your appointments completed by 9:30AM to ensure we get results back the same day.  If it is more convenient, you may also visit our Lafayette location for ultrasounds and blood work Monday- Friday.

Egg Retrieval: Once you have finished your injections of hormones and your eggs are mature enough to be retrieved, you will arrive at our Littleton office for your egg retrieval.  This procedure is a minor surgical procedure.  You will first be escorted our surgery center where you will meet with an anesthesiologist.  You will be given a surgical gown to wear.   (Bring comfortable clothes to wear home.)  The anesthesiologist will insert an IV and give you medications to fall to fall asleep.  You will only be asleep for about 20 minutes.  Therefore the procedure only takes 20 minutes to complete.  The physician will insert an ultrasound guided needle through your vaginal wall and into each of your ovaries.  Using suction at the end of the needle the physician will retrieve your eggs into a test tube.  There are no incisions or scarring after the procedure.  You will stay at our center in our recovery room for about 2 hours following your procedure.  You will then be discharged the same day as your procedure.  You will need someone to drive you home.  You will be able to return to work the very next day!

Your compensation check will be mailed out following your egg retrieval.

Finish Line:  After your egg donation retrieval you may return to your regular work schedule.  We will ask that you refrain from strenuous physical activity or sexual intercourse until your menstrual cycle has started.  Your cycle should start within 2 weeks following your egg retrieval.

Thank you for your wonderful egg donation and affecting so many lives in a positive way!!

Egg Donor Screening:
Fertility Screening: You will be asked to be off of all birth control pills and hormones for at least 1 month prior to scheduling your fertility screening.  This screening is needed to make sure you would be a good candidate to donate your eggs to someone in need.  After you have been off of all types of birth control (not including Diaphragms, Condoms and Para guard IUD) you will be asked to call us on cycle day 1 of your menstrual cycle.  We will have you come in on day 3 of your cycle to screening you for the following tests.
1.Vaginal Ultrasound to count your number of follicles or potential eggs.
2.Blood tests that include AMH, FSH and E2.  These hormone levels will tell us about your egg health and fertility status.
3.Blood test for Genetic Screening- Cystic Fibrosis, Fragile-X and Chromosome Analysis
4.Blood Type

Consult with a Psychologist: After your initial consult you will be asked to complete a psychological consult with one of our licensed psychologists that specialize in fertility and meeting with new potential donor’s and egg donor recipients.  This consultation is designed to make sure that your donation is a positive experience.  Egg donation is a decision that affects so many lives and we want to assure everyone this will be the best decision you have ever made.

After you have completed this initial screening you will officially be matched with a recipient couple.

More Screening:  Once you are matched with a recipient couple we will then complete additional screening the will include:
1.Full Physical Exam by a female Nurse Practitioner.  This physical will also include updating your Pap smear and
  Gonorrhea and Chlamydia testing.
2.Drug Screening
3.Urine Analysis
4.Communicable Disease Screening (HIV, Hepatitis B and C, Syphilis, West Nile Virus, Chagas Disease Screening)

The Matching Process: We are always in need of new donors.  Once you have completed you initial consult and screening you could be matched with a recipient couple immediately or it may take a few months depending on who is searching for a donor at that time.  We will keep you updated as to when you are matched, however you are more than welcome to call and follow-up on your status at anytime.
